I purdhased a 1999 Winnebago Rialta from VW of Oneonta in July of 1999. The experience at the dealership was very pleasant as I told the salesperson how much I was willing to pay for the unit and they accepted. I gave them a deposit and told them when I would pick up the unit. It was ready as promised. To date I have put about 12,000 miles on it. The only problems that I encountered have been minor, and only one required a visit to a dealer. The rear wiper/washer, A/C & Heater stopped working on our first trip south, we stopped at Meyers RV and they replaced a relay under warranty, we were back on our way in less than one hour. The only other problems I have had were that the moulding under the table door came loose, I glued it back and the minor design flaw (overhead cabinets will not stay open without holding them) was corrected with a piece of velcro stuck on the door. I will agree that Most VW dealers are reluctant to service it but I have found that quick oil change places will do routine service and probably other things as well. Since I have not had to have any VW warranty work I have not encountered that problem in my travels. The coach has performed beautifully in our travels with no problems other than specified, gets 16.5 MPG and has plenty of power. It drives like a car or a van anf if I don't use the cruise control I often find myself at 80MPH. I am very pleased with the Rialta.
