Follow-Up:

The Volkswagen owners manual for the 2002 Winnebago Rialta clearly states that the VR-6 engine requires 91 octane fuel. The fuel door also has a printed label stating that 91 octane fuel is required. The Volkswagen owners manual also goes on to say that engine damage will occur if lesser fuels are burned. We feel that the horse power gain is significant and a benefit. We just watch gas prices a bit closer so that we can get the best price. So far, on a green engine with less than 2500 miles, we are averaging 15 mpg in town. Have not checked highway milage yet.
