Change it, some dealers will even tell you that it's a closed system and doesn't need servicing, they are idiots, I service (Fluid and filter) every 20-30,000 miles and have 100,000 miles on the same tranny, you can get cheaper parts from europarts-sd.com and have job cost at about $175 from independent mechanic as opposed to $350 VW dealer JOB
