Question:
I have a 1997 Rialta which seems to have a transmission problem. I have had it to 3 different VW dealerships all of whom have run diagnostic tests. All of the tests show "no problem". However there is a problem and this is it. As the transmission is shifting around 30 mph, the engine revs with loss of forward momentum. If I brake and slow down, it will usually do allright as I accelerate again. This has happened going other speeds as well, also with the cruise control on, at 60 mph. The engine revs very high and fast, but loses forward power. This has been happening for 3 months, and doesn't seems to be getting worse, but I want to sell it. Anyone have this problem?
