The Shurflo pump model 2088 used to pump out the shower drain in my opinion is pure junk. If the pump is not used for long periods of time such as over the winter, the pump valves dry out and stick and will not pump. Sometimes you can dismantle the pump and lube the three valves with water and the pump will create suction, but more than likely, you will have to replace the pumphead or at a minimum, the valve assembly. I know, I learned the hard way and my pump was less than two years old. Flojet makes a great replacement pump.
