I just purchased a 95 Rialta. Lots of miles on it. I'm concerned that the refrigerator does not get cold when using Propane, batteries or 110 electric. It seems to lightly cool, but even close to what it would take to keep things cold. I traveled 2200 miles with it and it never once became cold enough to rely on it. Any suggestions? Went through a rain storm and things inside the lavatory got pretty wet. There is a leak where the ventilator fan is located. There must be a leak above the the micro-wave too. Both boards that hold up the microwave have de-laminated and need to be replaced. Remote mirrors don't seem to want to work and for some reason the power lock for the side door has been removed. The regular door locks still work. Previous owner said that a motor mount was welded after in ruined the transmission at 20K miles. Timing belt was replaced at 60k miles when a pulley came loose. When I come up to a stop sign in gear it runs pretty rough. When I take off it seems to smooth out any idea if this is something to worry about? Previous owner attempted to put antennea cables in driver side molding above the door and severely cracked it when tightening the screws all the way to the visor area. Anyone have a source for the vinyl (color is taupe) replacement? How long can you expect the 5 cylinder vw engines to last when it comes to mileage? I would certainly appreciate any help from some of you veteran Rialta owner's who have figured out the maintenance problems.
