Follow-Up:

Welcome to the same doubters club Steve. I too am 50's and considering the Rialta. I saw this site and freaked, but it also helped me do a little more homework. I have talked to several VW dealers both inb my hometown and in cities along routes that I would most likely be traveling. I am convinced that the unit is fine. I have also spoken to Winnebago and feel much better about the product. I guess I am lucky to be working with a dealer in the Tampa Bay area who has a very professional General Sales Manager who has listened for hours of my rambling about this concern and that. He has more than assured me that the product will perform. It will never be totally free of problems but I don't know of any unit that is. He has agreed that many of the problems are due to limited facilities that can perform work but the truth is the number is increasing annually. He has also purchased some equipment at the Winnebago dealership that can actually perform some of the VW service. Hey, why not give it a chance. I am. Mine is due in about a week. I wanted a corvette before I turned 50. Got that 2 months after I hit it. Wanted some kind of RV before I hit 55. Doing that 2 years ahead of time with the Rialta. I consider the Rialta a trainer for when I'm ready for the Class A someday. Don't let some of these disgruntled owners on this board ruin it for you. Maybe I'll see you someday on the road and I will wave just like all the crazy corvette owners do. Good luck.
