Question:
96 Rialta. Front air conditioner quit couple weeks ago. Rialta service center in Iowa City replaced "transistors and clutch" at $1500 price tag. Went about 100 miles with strange loud "flutter" sound when AC was on. Suddenly it quit working again Now same service center is quoting us a $2500 job (plus $200 for belt that is "cracked") to replace condenser. Claim it is coincidence only. Being older folks, we wonder if we are being "duped". Any comments please re 1) that sequential "coincidence" and 2) the HIGH price tags?
