Follow-Up:

Don, I have just had tire failures 5 & 6 replaced. One Blowout and 5 separations in 54,000 miles. These do not include the 5 tire change out on a 98 recall or the tire that was damaged because Winnebago used a plastic tie wrap, which broke, to hold the right rear emergency brake cable up in place. I have not paid for a tire yet. But it took two letters to the CEO of Continental with pictures. In talking to the Continental Service Rep, I told him that I think that Winnebago "Blind Sided" them. W spec'ed the vehicle and Continental supplied the tire. Than W increased the weight of the vehicle. The Rep said that the tires were origionaly supplied for the regular Euro Van. Than W decided to use them on the Rialta which is heavier. The Service Rep mentioned that C was looking for another manufacturer to make a sturdier replacement tire. But I guess that they have not found one yet. The new Vista on the VW chassis has a lot of new storage under the floor. I will bet that a lot of the new Vistas will be going down the road really overloaded. I will be courious to see what kind of tire service the unit will get. They are using the 16" Vanco's. In answer to your questions [1]there is no other vendor who makes a tire that will replace the Rialta's tires.(But they are looking for one.) {2}I have heard that some people have tried the 215's on the front. They did not report any problems but your speedometer will be off and you would in all probability notice a loss of power due to the larger tire diamenter. Not sure what it would do to your gas mileage. John
