Follow-Up:
Make sure the generator engine has the right quantity of oil. If it is low, the engine will definitely shut down at times when stopping, going around curves etc., but may run ok when stopped on a level surface. The engine has a safety device which will shut it down to prevent burn up due to lack of oil.
