Follow-Up:
I had similar problem and it turned out to be the transmission valve body, an $800 VW only part, also these transmissions need to be serviced (Fluid and filter replacement) every 20-30,000 miles, though some VW dealers will tell you it's a closed system that does not need servicing and they are very wrong! The valve body did show up on the engine scan as well as the throttle body ($600 VW only part) both were replaced starting with the throttle body which was not the problem, good luck
