I too have a '99 Rialta and love it. But, I have encountered the problem of VW warranty service. My engine warning light went on, was told by VW to take it to my nearest dealer-Bingampton, NY. I live on L.I. that's well over 200 miles way to turn off the light. Have written to VW asking for clarification as to getting service at, as the warranty states, any authorized VW dealer. Recommend you write to VW's president for help. Suggest you tell any Rialta owners you meet to do the same and perhaps they will live up to their warranty statement that you can be serviced "at any authorized Volkswagen dealer". Perhaps if they recive enough complaints they will do something about a misrepresentive statement in the warranty. My winnebago dealer has been nothing short of great-absolutely no complaints. But, even he can't give help with VW service.
