Follow-Up:
I have a 1995 Rialta and in our vehicle to downshift you simply push the gear back without pressing in the lever button. We ran across the problem when we first bought the vehicle and drove it off the lot. We had to call the dealer La Mesa as were driving and encountered our first hill. Good luck! Mayumi
